The Analogy of Religion -My hard copy of Butler’s Complete Works contains around twenty sermons and a number of letters, but most free online versions of the Analogy contain two short dissertations and fifteen sermons selected by Butler himself.

Studies Subsidiary to the Works of Bishop Butler by William Ewart Gladstone is a lengthily commentary on Butler’s thought.


Five Dialogues: Euthyphro, Apology, Crito, Meno, Phaedo by G.M.A. Grube is a highly respected translated on five of Plato’s essential dialogues. Get this and Alan Bloom’s translation of the Republic. If you want to splash out then get Plato:Complete Works by J. M. Cooper.


Basic Works of Aristotle, by Richard McKeon has most of Aristotle’s important works.
